Engagement Photo Ideas

Our engagement photos are in, and I couldn’t be more excited to share them with all of you! I’m so happy with the way our photos turned out. And I’m excited to look back on them as the years pass. I hope our future grandchildren will one day say, “you two looked good back in the day!”

I was really clueless about how to go about getting my engagement pictures done, and what I wanted. I’m so appreciative of Leah Nicole for capturing these treasured moments that I’ll cherish forever. She truly did an incredible job. I had nothing to worry about, because Leah told us step-by-step what to do.

I had two looks for our session. The first was a dressed up, casual look. I wore a fuchsia cami, dark-denim jeans (both cami and jeans are from Express), and a simple, black-block heel sandal (Steve Madden). The second look was more of a “wow” look. I wore a long, tulle, red dress (RedDressBoutique). I liked my second look a bit more, and the dress looked beautiful in the photos. Also, I picked out Nick’s clothes, so he would coordinate more with mine. You definitely don’t want to be in a beautiful dress, and have your fiance in jeans and a T-shirt.

We shot our pictures in the evening. I believe it was around six in the evening, if I remember right. This is the golden hour, and the sun is beautiful during this time, so make sure to shoot your session during the golden hour as well!

The photos taken on the runway are my favorite.

We shot our photos at two separate locations. The first was at Cumberland Falls, which provided a “foresty” background. The second was at a local, small airport, which gave us the open sky that turned out beautiful.
